Caitlyn Watson, Carolina Mares and Joe Colley, all 2Ls in the Community HeLP Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law, conducted a training in November for graduate students in La Clinica in Lak’Ech, a graduate program affiliated with the Department of Counseling & Human Development Services in the Mary Francis Early College of Education at the University of Georgia School of Law. Students in La Clinica have provided free mental health services and evaluations for Spanish speaking noncitizens in the Athens area. Community HeLP’s training covered U visas, the Violence Against Women Act, and other remedies for immigrant survivors of domestic violence.
